Guaya'b Collective

Guaya’b Asociación Civil (GUAYA’B) is a cooperative of 634 smallholder coffee-farming families working together to improve coffee quality, strengthen their livelihoods, and support sustainable agricultural practices. Their farms, which average just a few acres in size, are certified Organic and Smithsonian Bird Friendly, reflecting a strong commitment to environmental stewardship and biodiversity. GUAYA’B provides members with technical assistance, including soil analysis and training in organic fertilizer production, helping farmers maintain healthy and productive farms.

The cooperative also supports farming families through childcare services during harvest season, creating a safe and enriching environment for children while parents work in the fields. Through these initiatives, GUAYA’B helps build resilient communities while producing exceptional coffees that showcase the unique character of Huehuetenango.
